Relationships and Relationality in Early Daoism

What does it mean to be in relation to another person, to ourselves, and to the world around us? Early Daoism understands a relationship not merely as a connection between two individuals, but as an ongoing process of interweaving and responding within an ever-changing world.

In our discussion, we will explore how early Daoist texts speak of relationality, mutual influence, attunement, and unforced action. What does it mean to be with another person without trying to control or change them? How can we remain in relationship while preserving our own autonomy? And what can a Daoist perspective offer us in understanding our everyday relationships?
