Anniversary Chongdao Cultural Book Series (2016–2026)
On the tenth anniversary of the restoration and renewed spiritual flourishing of Chongdao Gong (Jiangxi Province, China), a representative five-volume collection entitled Chongdao Wenhua Congshu (崇道文化丛书, Chongdao Cultural Book Series) has been published. It is a comprehensive multidisciplinary archive documenting a decade of growth at this important Daoist center.
The collection, published by Linlun Books, is produced in traditional Chinese binding and brings together historiography, sacred art, and contemporary Daoist discourse. Across its five volumes, it covers: a historical chronicle and the architecture of the monastery, liturgical poetry and ritual inscriptions, the art of calligraphy (by Song Chongdao), photographic documentation of the decade-long restoration, and a collection of scholarly writings and essays on Daoist practice.
Official titles of the five books (in order):
- 崇道宫志 (Chongdao Gong Zhi) – Chronicle of Chongdao Gong: A historical overview from its founding to the present day.
- 崇道诗联 (Chongdao Shi Lian) – Poetry and Couplets: A collection of ritual verses and inscriptions that adorn the temple.
- 崇道墨韵 (Chongdao Mo Yun) – The Art of Ink: A catalogue of calligraphies and artworks
- 崇道文集 (Chongdao Wen Ji) – Collected Writings: essays
- 崇道影集 (Chongdao Ying Ji) – Photo Album: A visual document of the 2016–2026 restoration.
International significance and the contribution of the Slovenian Daoist Temple:
The collection’s special significance in the international sphere is confirmed by the inclusion of Jure Čeh (Yuan Weiqi), Rector of the Slovenian Daoist Temple of Supreme Harmony. As the principal international contributor, he wrote the introductory foreword to the collection as well as an essay in the volume Chongdao Wen Ji.
