Daoism in Europe: An Invitation to Update the 2026 Overview
In 2024, I conducted a survey of Daoist temples and communities in Europe, which I presented at international daoist forums. The research has been published on the website of the Slovenian Daoist Temple: Daoist Temples and Communities in Europe https://slovenski-daoisticni-tempelj.si/en/blog/daoist-temples-and-comm…;
I would now like to invite Daoist temples, religious communities, organizations, practitioners, scholars, and everyone involved in the development of Daoism in Europe to contribute to an updated overview for 2026. The aim is not simply to reproduce or expand the existing list, but to document and reflect on developments over the past two years:
the establishment of new temples and communities, changes within existing institutions, the activities of independent practitioners and teaching lineages, and emerging forms of cooperation and international exchange. Contributions may concern formally established Daoist temples and religious communities, associations and study groups, independent practitioners and teachers, as well as new initiatives and networks that contribute to the living presence of Daoism in Europe.
All are warmly invited to share updates, corrections, new information, and relevant developments. Together, we can build a more comprehensive and accurate picture of the diverse and evolving landscape of European Daoism.
We would also be delighted to present relevant contributions, initiatives, and updates on the Slovenian Daoist Temple’s website, available in five languages, helping make the work and activities of Daoist communities across Europe accessible to a wider international audience.
How to Contribute
Please send your updates and information by email, including the name and location of the temple, community, organization, or initiative; its current status and main activities; any significant developments since 2024; and relevant website links, publications, or contact details. New initiatives and corrections to the existing overview are equally welcome.
If possible, please include a few sentences describing what has changed or developed since 2024. This will help us document not only the current landscape of Daoism in Europe, but also its development over the past two years.
You are also welcome to share photographs or other materials that may help present your community or activities, provided you have permission for their publication.
Please send your updates and information through the contact page of the Slovenian Daoist Temple:

Thank you for contributing to the documentation and shared understanding of the living tradition of Daoism in Europe.
