Invitation to Collaborate

Dear all,

we invite you to take part in the Department of Daoist and Traditional Chinese Music.

We welcome serious applicants to our department for in-depth work in the field of Daoist ritual music and traditional Chinese music. Our work is based on respect for tradition and on exploring the relationship between sound, ritual, and Daoist inner cultivation. We place emphasis on shared practice, attentiveness, continuity of work, and the liturgical function of sound. Serious applicants who become members of SDT may also be offered training in China.

Prior musical knowledge is not required. More important are motivation, an appropriate attitude toward practice, inner discipline, readiness for long-term and in-depth work, and consideration for the interests of the community.
